This is what we will observe by listing in a non-exhaustive way the significant variations which exist from one generation to the next, beyond the improvements of the components.

Format and hole in the screen

The BIG difference between Note 10 and Note 9 lies in their very different designs from each other. The hole in the screen is there and it feels strongly on the edges around the screen. The slab of the newborn is thus still much less framed. The Note 10 classic is also significantly smaller and thinner than its predecessor: 151, 71.8 x 7.9 mm on the recent smartphone against 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm on that of 2018.

In hand, it feels quite, especially in terms of weight. The Galaxy Note 10 weighs 168 grams, nearly 30 grams less than Note 9.

In fact, it is the Galaxy Note 10+ which, in terms of format, is closest to the Galaxy Note 9 as can be seen in the photo below. Indeed, its height (162.3 mm) and its weight (196 grams) are almost identical. On the screens, however, we are on very different diagonals, which rank in the ascending order:

6.3 inches for Note 10
6.4 inches for Note 9
6.8 inches for the Note 10+

Bixby button, jack, and microSD

To continue on elements of design, it is necessary to stop on the two elements mentioned in the intertitle above. The Galaxy Note 10 say goodbye to the 3.5mm jack. This one was nevertheless present on the vintage of 2018 and had even served as arguments for the purists of the wired audio quality. They will not find happiness this year.

And on other details, the rather annoying button dedicated to the activation of Bixby on the Galaxy Note 9 disappears in the new generation. To emphasize this change, the unlock key has flipped to the left to join the volume controls.

The right edge is thus rid of all edges. Moreover, if we continue to inspect the ratings of the Galaxy Note 10, there is no location for the microSD card. We must turn to Note 10+ to find this famous drawer. Speaking of storage, let us also note that the new generation enjoys UFS 3.0.

2, 3 or 4 Photosensors?

On the camera, the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ have more sensors than the Note 9. The big addition is the integration of an ultra-wide-angle because the model of last year was already entitled to a dual camera consisting of a main lens and a telephoto lens.

Note 10+ goes even further by adding a fourth sensor dedicated solely to the calculation of depth of field. The latter aims to make even more precise Portrait mode.

Remote stylus

The pen S Pen was obviously already part of the Note 9. With Note 10, the accessory was entitled to a change of design to adopt a more uniform look. But more importantly: new Bluetooth features make it possible to use the smartphone without touching the screen.

Thus in the application of the camera, a vertical gesture made with the stylus to switch from the rear sensor to the front sensor, while a horizontal movement of the S Pen is used to change the shooting mode. This can be quite handy if you put the smartphone on a remote tripod and you need to take several different shots from each other.

Starting price

Interestingly, Note 10 costs less than its predecessor at launch. Yes, we pass today at a rate of 959 euros while in 2018 it was necessary to pay 1009 euros to get the Galaxy Note 9.

We are not on the same type of evolution for Note 10+ however. It costs 1109 or 1209 euros depending on the version you choose, 256 or 512 GB of storage.
