Samsung has presented the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ at its own event in New York. Both smartphones will be released in the Benelux in two weeks. It is the first time in years that the Note appears in two formats.
Note 10 is with 151x71mm a lot smaller than many previous Galaxy Notes, while the Note 10+ with dimensions of 162.3x77mm is just on the big side. The screen of the Note 10+ is also larger, with a thick 113 square centimeters compared to 98.8 square centimeters of the smaller Note 10; the diagonals are 6.8 “for the Note 10+ and 6.3” for the smaller Note 10. The Note 10 has a 1080p resolution, where the Note 10+ has a 1440p screen, just like previous Note devices. At the top center of the screen is a hole for the front camera.
In addition to the format, the battery capacity also varies and the Note 10+ has a microsd slot and time-of-flight sensor. Both models are functionally the same. Both phones are the first to come out with the Exynos 9825 , the first soc produced with euv. Compared to previous Note phones, Samsung adds Air Actions to the S Pen, which allows users to make gestures with the stylus without touching the screen.
Charging is possible with a maximum of 45W; that is much more than the 25W and 15W of Samsung models from recent years. In the camera area, Samsung has added portrait mode to videos, something that competitor Huawei has been doing since last year. The Note 10 and 10+ have a USB-C port, but no 3.5mm jack.
The Note 10 and 10+ join Samsung’s other phones in the high-end market: the S10e, S10, S10 + and A80. The Note 10 and 10+ will be released on August 23.
